Synopsis:
Seasons have returned to Faerie and the fey are not happy about it. There hasn't been anything but summer in the land of the fey for thousands of years, so long that most have forgotten what the seasons are. The nights grow longer and Faerie grows colder as winter approaches, and it falls upon Vervain to help the fey through these changes. As if that's not enough, a murderer is on the lose and everyone seems to think it's her. Can the Godhunter find her way out of the darkness or will Faerie be lost to her forever?

Amy Sumida lives on an island in the Pacific Ocean where gods go to play. She sleeps in a fairy bed, high in the air, with two gravity-defying felines and upon waking, enjoys stabbing people with little needles, over and over, under the guise of making pretty pictures on their skin. She has no filter, making her honesty a little hard to take sometimes, but she has been fortunate enough to find friends who appreciate this... or at least tell her they do. She bellydances and paints pictures on her walls but is happiest with her nose stuck in a book, her mind in a different world than this one, filled with fantastical men who unfortunately don't exist in our mundane reality. She's been writing since she was a little girl but first decided to pursue writing as a career when she gave her high school English teacher one of her books to look over and unbeknownst to her, that teacher passed her book around to all her friends. A month later she was accosted in the halls by a teacher she didn't know, begging her to write a sequel. She's been writing novels ever since.
She enjoys serious, kick-ass heroines in her literature. "Nothing is more attractive than a woman who goes up against overwhelming supernatural odds with a sense of humor," she says. "Who wouldn't want to be that woman? I want to be that woman. So that's who I write about, the woman I want to be." Her main characters are strong, witty women, who in the midst of trauma will crack a joke, or find the nerve to sass a villain even when they know it's not in their best interest. Add to that, strong male characters who aren't intimidated or emasculated by the main heroine's strength and you have a dynamic partnership. Amy's books aren't about women being more powerful than men or subjugating men in any way, they're about women who can be strong and yet allow their men to have their own strengths as well. More importantly, her heroines have humility and weaknesses that make them not only believable but easy to relate to.
She's also an artist and you can find her paintings for sale on Etsy.com, her favorite subjects are scenes inspired by Hawaii and her series of "Living Vodou Dolls". She loves the beautifully unusual.
